Oak and Alabaster | Tudor Home Bathroom Renovation in Hancock Park Los Angeles

Oak and Alabaster is a high-end residential renovation project located in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, focused on reimagining the bathrooms of a historic 1920s Tudor home.

The design challenge centered on introducing contemporary elements while preserving the integrity of the home’s original architectural character and detailing. The project includes four distinct bathroom schemes, each carefully developed to balance modern functionality with the existing Tudor palette.

The master suite was expanded through the transformation of an existing closet into a wet room, alongside the addition of H.P.O.Z.-approved square footage to accommodate a bay window feature and a new infinity tub. A spacious his-and-hers dressing room replaces multiple smaller closets, enhancing both usability and spatial clarity.

Materiality plays a central role in the design, with each bathroom showcasing unique exotic quartzites sourced from South America and Pakistan, some of which are debuting in the United States. These selections elevate the project with a refined and globally influenced aesthetic.

By merging historic preservation with contemporary luxury, Oak and Alabaster reflects a sophisticated approach to residential interior architecture.
