Sand House

The challenge with this remodel of a 90’s era Venice Beach Boardwalk home was to make the interior appear seamless with its oceanfront view. The client’s request was to “have the beach flow into my home.” Natural ocean surroundings inspired all finishes to mimic the color of sand and driftwood found along the beach.

Careful coordination of existing interior elements proved critical to ensure that all items could corroborate the existent setting. Spatial circulation was singularly directional, minimizing visual disruption from the beach. The result is a home that feels both peaceful within itself and in sync with its curbside ocean context.
